Holy Lightbulb!

We got together with a bunch of friends to watch NASCAR yesterday. We were in the middle of eating dinner when our area was hit with a severe thunderstorm. The girls were sitting at the dinner table with all the kiddos and my one friend exclaimed "Holy cow!" after a particular lightning bolt lit up the sky. We were all running around the house looking out windows because there was some crazy hail coming down for a while. Once we all settled down and got back to eating Chase started exclaiming "holy lightbulb!" everytime lightning shot across the sky. It was hysterical and also a good reminder that he is copying everything we say right now.

The kids

This is Alexa's everyday personality. She's such a pleasure to be around!

Our "little man" hanging out with his best bud.
(I think he was trying to mimic the cat rolling upside down)

We're still here

I just wanted to let everyone know that I am still trying to keep up with our blog. We lost our computer to a nasty virus several weeks ago and have been trying to get everything back up and working on our new computer. I LOVE the new computer; it's just taking some time to get used to everything. Our old computer was a "dinosaur" so there is a learning curve with all that's changed. Our old monitor was about two feet deep, front to back, just to give you an idea of the age of it. I hated it and am so happy for a flat screen monitor and quiet tower. We can finally see the top of our desk! :-)
I'll be back to post new pictures and some updates as soon as possible. Taking care of two kids leaves a lot less "free" time! We'll be seeing you soon...

To Catch a Thief...

...or in this case a vandal.

Here's the story. Howard installed lattice around the base of our deck this summer. It looked really nice until one day I realized that something had chewed part of one of the openings bigger.

Grrr! We were not pleased but had no idea what was doing it. We did see a rabbit run out from under our deck once and the neighbors have all been complaining of a rabbit wreaking havoc on decks and flower beds.

We set out a humane trap last week and lo and behold we caught ourselves a rabbit! (Don't worry no animals were harmed. We took the vandal to my brother's house where the rabbit was released into the woods). After we caught it we found out it had chewed through another part of the lattice. Apparently this critter had something against white, vinyl lattice. At least we feel like we got justice for the damage caused.
